Dr Hillard is a fine professor who is very good at what she does. I concur with the last review about her going out of her way to help her students. She is helpful, engaging, and damn good at her job. Her lectures are nice although she does try a bit too hard to "sound historical" at times. Meaning she sometimes speaks in a venacular assosiated with the era she is teaching about. Other than that shes great and one can learn a lot from her class. However, the workload and focus you need for this class is far above and beyond what should be for an entry level class. The recitation is like its own class with its own demands and such, completely seperate from the lecture. So you end up essentially taking 2 different classes for only 3 credits with her. And it is for this reason I cannot reccomend her to incoming freshman. Or to anyone who has a large workload assosiated with their own major. This class requires way too much of your avaliable study time. So while I would totally reccomend Hilliard for upper level classes because she is fun to learn from, I cannot im good conscience reccomend her 200 level class. Unless you want to spend most of your spare time studying for a gen ed class.

Pros: Very nice, easy to listen to. Will go out of her way to help you.
Cons: Tests are all the grade.
Its a 200 level course, pretty much says it all. If you try your going to get a good grade.
